Rashmika Mandanna to share stage with international pop singer

Rashmika Mandanna is set to share the stage with global pop sensation The Weeknd at the upcoming Global Anime Awards 2026. Rashmika, who previously created a mark by presenting at the awards two years ago, will return this year as a host. The event is scheduled to take place in Tokyo on May 23, 2026.

The prestigious global ceremony honours excellence in anime across multiple categories and brings together international talent. This year, Rashmika will be part of an elite lineup of presenters, with The Weeknd (whose real name is Abel Tesfaye) among the biggest names attending.

Sharing the stage with a global music icon like The Weeknd at such a high-profile event is expected to further boost Rashmika’s visibility, especially in the Japanese market.

Known to be a diehard anime fan, Rashmika has been actively engaging with audiences in Japan. She recently promoted her film “Pushpa 2″ there, strengthening her connection with fans in the region.

On the work front, she has a packed lineup. She will be seen alongside Vijay Deverakonda in “Ranabaali” and is also working on a female-centric action film titled “Mysaa.”
