Ravi Babu's Razor

Ravi Babu gave a series of interviews to YouTube channels ahead of the release of his latest directorial venture, “Razor.” During these interactions, he spoke extensively about the current filmmaking trends in Telugu cinema, criticizing excessive budgets, lengthy production schedules, industry politics, and the demands of star heroes.

He also drew comparisons between Hollywood and Telugu cinema, presenting his views on how films should be made and how the industry could deliver successful movies more efficiently. However, when it came to delivering a hit himself, Ravi Babu once again failed to impress at the box office.

The actor-director has often faced criticism for reportedly drawing inspiration from old Hollywood and Korean thrillers, reworking familiar plots with his own twists. Critics now point out that “Razor” bears strong similarities to the Korean action thriller “The Man from Nowhere.”

Despite the pre-release buzz generated through interviews, the film has turned out to be a major disappointment commercially. “Razor” failed to post even respectable numbers during its opening weekend, making it yet another setback in Ravi Babu’s recent track record.
