Reba Monica John takes the lead in the item song race!

Item songs have become popular in Telugu cinema again. Big-budgeted films like the “Pushpa” franchise have roped in popular actresses like Samantha and Sreeleela to perform item songs. And youthful comedies, too, followed suit.

Last month, we saw two films in which two popular actresses performed item songs. They are Ketika Sharma in “Robinhood” and Reba Monica John in “Mad Square.” The results of these movies are already out.

Reba shines, and Ketika flops

Both Ketika Sharma and Reba Monica John have tried item songs for the first time in their careers. Ketika Sharma was supposed to perform the item song “Oo Antava Mava” in “Pushpa,” but Samantha snatched it, and Samantha’s song gained national craze.

To fulfill the promise made to Ketika Sharma, the production house offered the item song “Adhi Dha Surprisu” in the film “Robinhood,” starring Nithin and Sreeleela. Though the song became viral before the film’s release and sparked controversy due to indecent dancing moves, which the producers later changed for the film, her voluptuous beauty showcase did not aid the film’s success.

On the other hand, Reba Monica John made a successful debut as an item bomb. She performed the song “Swathi Reddy,” and the film “Mad Square” was a success thanks to strong opening collections in the very first weekend.

We’ll have to see if Reba Monica John is able to snatch more item song offers.
