Rajamouli’s magnum opus ‘RRR’ got postponed at the last minute, owing to the third wave of the coronavirus. The makers have not announced a new release date. But now, comes a bit of clarity.
Announcing the details, producer DVV Danayya said in a statement that their film may hit the theaters on 18th March 2022, if the situation is conducive enough for the theatrical release. They have locked a date in April as well. So there is plan A and plan B for the release.
The statement reads, “If the pandemic situation in the country gets better and all theatres open up to operate at full capacity, #RRRMovie will release on 18th March 2022. Otherwise, it will release on 28th April 2022.”
‘RRR’ is one of the costliest and most-awaited movies. It is also the biggest multi-starrer ever in the Telugu cinema industry as NTR and Ram Charan are coming together. Bollywood actors Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt also play the main leads. Shriya Saran, Olivia Morris, and Samuthirakani are also part of the ensemble cast.
Directed by Rajamouli and music composed by Keeravani, the mega period drama is set in the 1920s.
