Samantha Akkineni won critical acclaim with the ‘Family Man 2’, her maiden web series. Due to controversy surrounding the web series and lockdown, Samantha had not stepped out to promote it either. She remained in her home for the last three months. She is now getting back to work.
Samantha starrer ‘Shaakuntalam’ has begun its new schedule today, but she will join the sets in the first week of July. Directed by Gunasekhar, the epic fantasy drama has Samantha playing Shakuntala. The film is based on a Sanskrit play by Mahakavi Kalidasa.
Besides ‘Shaakuntalam’, Samantha has not signed any other Telugu film.
Samantha has also turned down a big web series even though ‘The Family Man 2’ became a sensation. She has slowed down her work.
