The rampage of Sankranthi 2023 films begins tomorrow (Jan 11). Surprisingly, none of the four big Sankranthi 2023 films are releasing on the same day this time. These four biggies and one small film have gotten plenty of attention. The theatrical market for these films is worth approximately Rs 225 crore (Global Telugu market).

This Telugu-dubbed film is the first to be released in theatres during the Sankranthi season. Ajith played the main character. ‘Tegimpu,’ directed by H Vinoth of ‘Khaaki’ fame, is a bank heist thriller.
Veera Simha Reddy – 12 January
The Nandamuri Balakrishna-starrer has a lot of buzz surrounding it. The pre-sales in USA and buzz in the Telugu states are fantastic. During the Sankranthi season, Balakrishna has delivered many record-breaking hits, and he is currently riding a popularity wave. The trailer was a hit. The film is directed by Gopichand Malineni and produced by Mythri Movie Makers. Shruti Haasan plays the lead role. Thaman composed the music.
Waltair Veerayya – 13 January
The songs from Megastar Chiranjeevi’s film also created a lot of buzz. Devi Sri Prasad has given the music. Bobby directed the film, which also stars Ravi Teja in a key role. This multi-starrer is trending well in ticket sales in the United States as well. Obviously, it would do well in Telugu states. According to Chiranjeevi, the film is an emotional commercial entertainer. Among all the Sankranthi films, ‘Waltair Veerayya’ did huge pre-release business.
Vaarasudu – 14 January
‘Varisu,’ the new film from Tamil superstar Vijay, will be released worldwide tomorrow. However, the Telugu-dubbed version, titled ‘Vaarasudu,’ will hit theatres on January 14. ‘Vaarasudu,’ directed by Vamshi Paidipally and produced by Dil Raju, lacks buzz.
