'Shakari - Vikramaditya': Historical saga of India’s great emperor

The book ‘Shakari – Vikramaditya’, based on the life and valor of the glorious Indian emperor Vikramaditya, is set for a grand release soon. This book sheds light on a significant chapter of Indian history, which has so far been perceived mainly through mythological narratives.

About the Authors: A Fusion of History and Administration

This book is co-authored by renowned philosopher and spiritual researcher Devŗishi (Rishikesh Pandey) and senior IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh P. Narahari. Both authors have a deep interest in historical research and social studies. Previously, they co-authored ‘Ramraja’, a book exploring the historical background of Orchha’s Rajaram Temple.

Emperor Vikramaditya was one of the greatest heroes of Indian history, who reshaped Indian culture through his valor and policies. ‘Shakari – Vikramaditya’ is the first book that presents his life’s historical events based on facts and evidence. Until now, Vikramaditya’s legend was mostly associated with Vikram-Vetal and Sinhasan Battisi, which depicted his tales in a mythological manner. This book aims to bring forth the real historical narrative of his life.

Key Themes of the Book

● Vikramaditya’s early life and his loss of the throne following his father’s death.
● His journey from living as a common man to becoming a legendary warrior.
● His triumph over the Shakas, earning him the title ‘Shakari’ (Destroyer of the Shakas).

Recognizing the book’s historical significance, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has penned its foreword. As a resident of Ujjain and a dedicated researcher of Vikramaditya, his contribution lends further authenticity to this work.

A Film Based on This Historic Saga

Considering the book’s historical authenticity and growing popularity, South Indian film producer Bharat Choudhary is planning a grand cinematic adaptation of this saga. This film aims to bring India’s glorious history to a global audience.
