Sharwanand’s wait-and-watch approach for Bhogi

Sharwanand faced a major problem during the Sankranthi 2026 season: a lack of theaters for his film. Now, the same issue could repeat for his upcoming movie, Bhogi, directed by Sampath Nandi.
“Nari Nari Naduma Murari,” in which he played a man caught between his lover and former lover, hit theaters at a time when big releases such as Chiranjeevi’s “Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu”, Prabhas’s “The Raja Saab”, and “Anaganaga Oka Raju” had occupied most screens. Despite receiving positive talk and eventually being declared a success, the film’s box-office collections remained limited due to insufficient screen availability during the crucial festival period.
Sharwanand and his team had announced August 28, 2026, as the release date for “Bhogi” long ago. At the time, no other major film had planned a release around that date. However, things changed when Yash’s “Toxic” locked August 26 as its release date, arriving in theaters just two days ahead of Sharwanand’s film.
So, what will Sharwanand do? Will he take on the pan-Indian biggie or shift his release date? “Toxic” is unlikely to move again, as the film has already undergone multiple postponements. According to our sources, Sharwanand is adopting a wait-and-watch approach before making a final call.
“Bhogi” is currently in the final stages of shooting.
