Lately, social media, especially X.com, has become a platform where users chase trends and post sensational content primarily for engagement and revenue. The more the engagement, the higher the earnings. As a result, genuine news and informative media are being sidelined, while trivial or bizarre topics are gaining undue attention. Many journalists have also shifted focus, prioritizing engagement-driven content on Twitter over traditional reporting.

A prime example of this trend is the sudden buzz around the late N. T. Rama Rao’s eating habits.

The legendary actor and politician passed away nearly three decades ago, yet discussions about his diet have recently gone viral. Users on X.com began sharing old YouTube interview clips featuring actors and celebrities who had known NTR, recounting anecdotes about his eating habits.

One such detail that has caught the internet’s imagination is his love for Mirapakaya Bajji (chili fritters). The dish is now trending across platforms, with even Zomato joining the fun by teasing its users with the line: “Want to become Karanajanmudu? Order Mirapakaya Bajjis.” This trend was sparked by a viral video where someone claimed that NTR once ate 40 Mirapakaya Bajjis in a single sitting.

Veteran actor Rajendra Prasad even confirmed this in an interview. Additionally, a person who reportedly worked with NTR shared in a YouTube video that the iconic actor used to eat two whole boiled chicken birds early every morning.

For better or worse, N. T. Rama Rao remains a trending topic—proving that even decades after his passing, he continues to capture the imagination of younger generations, regardless of the reasons or motives behind the conversations.
