Speculation mounts over Meena’s possible political entry

Actress Meena, widely known for her work in blockbuster films from the 1990s to the recent Drishyam franchise, is back in the headlines. She made to news this time for her possible foray into politics. Tamil media reports suggest that the 48-year-old actress is considering joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Meena, who recently lost her husband Sagar, is a mother to a teenage daughter. While she has never publicly expressed political ambitions in the past, speculation began swirling after her recent meeting with India’s Vice President, Jagdeep Dhankhar. Political observers believe she may be strengthening ties with the BJP ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

The BJP already has actress Khushbu Sundar among its ranks in the state. If Meena joins, she would become another star face for the party.
