With the big-ticket film stepping out of the season, the spotlight has now shifted to a fresh lineup led by Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Nikhil Siddhartha, and Varun Tej.
Samantha’s comeback film “Maa Inti Bangaram,” directed by Nandini Reddy, is slated for a May 15 release and is already generating curiosity among fans.
Meanwhile, Nikhil Siddhartha’s ambitious pan-India project “Swayambhu” is gearing up for release on May 22. Mounted on a grand scale, the film is expected to be a major draw during the holiday season.
Varun Tej’s “Korean Kanakaraju” is also in the mix, with its release planned before the summer holidays conclude, although the exact date is yet to be announced.
Apart from these, Suriya’s “Veera Bhadrudu” is expected to arrive in theaters on May 14, but being a dubbed film, it may not have the same impact as straight Telugu releases.
Other notable films in the pipeline include Tharun Bhascker’s Gaayapadda Simham (May 1) and Nagabandham (June 3), adding more variety to the summer lineup. With multiple mid-to-big range films lining up, Summer 2026 now looks like a balanced season driven by content and star power rather than a single dominant release.
