Renowned producer Sunil Narang has been elected as the new President of the Telangana State Film Chamber of Commerce. The newly elected governing council was announced at a meeting held today in Hyderabad. Ravindra Gopala and Uday Kumar Reddy K were elected as Vice Presidents, Sridhar VL as Secretary, Chandra Sekhar Rao J as Joint Secretary, and Satyanarayana Goud.B as Treasurer.

Sunil Narang expressed his gratitude and highlighted the chamber’s rich legacy, noting that it is one of the oldest film chambers in India. Secretary Sridhar added, “This is the 80th general body meeting. The chamber was established 80 years ago. I will do my best for the development of the industry.”

The new leadership also voiced strong criticism against the rising trend of inflated star remunerations, which are driving production budgets to unsustainable levels without regard for market realities.

“Many stars today lack real stardom, yet producers continue to pay exorbitant fees. Recently, a hero’s film managed to collect just Rs 2 crore in worldwide share—not just from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, but from the entire global market. Despite this, the star is now commanding a remuneration of Rs 13 crore. What kind of logic is this?” the newly elected committee questioned, condemning this unhealthy trend in the Telugu film industry.
