Director A R Murugadoss has revealed that he originally wrote the script of ‘Thuppakki’ for Mahesh Babu. He also narrated the story to Mahesh Babu and got his nod. “But due to a commitment with Vijay sir, I made the film with him in Tamil. Later I wanted to remake it with Mahesh Babu but Vijay sir wanted to foray into Telugu market with this. So it was dubbed into Telugu,” Murugadoss revealed further.

‘Spyder’ was solely written for and made with Mahesh Babu. But both Mahesh and Murugadoss have been planning to work together from ‘Pokiri’ days but it took 10 years to happen. Murugadoss heaped praise on Mahesh Babu’s for his subtle performance and great dedication.
