Toxic: Clueless publicity raises eyebrows ahead of release

Yash’s “Toxic” is firmly on track for its March 19 release, but the film’s promotional silence is raising questions. With barely a month to go, the team has not initiated any major publicity campaigns, except for unveiling a teaser last month.
The lack of visible promotions has fueled postponement rumours. However, the makers maintain that the promotional activities are strategically planned and will roll out at the right time.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, “Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-ups” has been in production for nearly two years. It marks Yash’s first release after the sensational pan-Indian blockbuster “KGF Chapter 2.” While Yash enjoys massive craze and box-office pull, trade analysts believe strong promotions are essential, especially outside Karnataka.
Industry insiders say Yash prefers a last-minute promotional blitz instead of building early hype. He reportedly followed a similar strategy for “Dhurandhar”, opting for a sharp final push rather than prolonged buzz.
“Toxic” also features Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth and Huma Qureshi in key roles, adding to the film’s pan-Indian appeal.
