Maverick director Puri Jagannadh is celebrating his 55th birthday today. The ‘Pokiri’ director received love and warm wishes from celebrities including Mahesh Babu and Ram Pothineni. But Vijay Deverakonda’s wishes, in particular, are unique. They are currently working together on ‘Liger’, a pan-Indian boxing drama. The film also marks the debut of boxing legend Mike Tyson in Indian films.
Vijay Deverakonda and Puri Jagannadh have met for the first time two years ago for the collaboration. The film’s shooting was delayed due to the pandemic.
Vijay Deverakonda took to social media to inform his fans how Puri Jagannadh has become his friend and guardian throughout the film’s production. He wrote, “You and I meeting – was Destined. Ever since we met, 2 years ago, you have become my Director – giving me my biggest playground as an actor, my Friend – who I trust with happy things and sad, my Guardian – while I do crazy shit away from home.”
He also wished Puri the very best for him in his birthday wish.”We share massive dreams, and next year, we shall give the world something they will not forget! I love you @purijagan sir Happy Birthday, if you just promise to stay healthy, I shall be by your side to blow minds :)”
‘Liger’ will hit the theaters in 2022. The film’s shooting is currently progressing in Goa.
