Vishwambhara eyes Independence Day release slot

Vishwambhara

Chiranjeevi’s fantasy drama “Vishwambhara” has gone through several release date changes, and the makers are yet to officially announce a new release plan.

Recently, speculation spread on social media that the film, which has already faced nearly three years of delays, might be split into two parts with an extended runtime. Responding to these rumours, director Vassishta reacted sarcastically by saying, “Is that so? Is it true?” His response indirectly dismissed the reports, making it clear that “Vishwambhara” will release as a single film.

The project has also suffered a dip in buzz following criticism over the VFX quality seen in the teaser. The backlash reportedly pushed the makers to spend additional time reworking the visual effects to improve the final output.

Now, the latest industry talk suggests that the team is targeting the Independence Day holiday window, with August 13 or August 14 being considered as possible release dates.

The film stars Trisha Krishnan and Ashika Ranganath as the female leads, while Mouni Roy is said to be appearing in a special song. The big-budget entertainer is being produced by UV Creations, with Vassishta, known for “Bimbisara,” directing the project.
