‘Vishwanath And Sons’ is a dubbed Telugu release, confirms director

Director Venky Atluri has set the record straight. Suriya-starrer “Vishwanath And Sons” is a straight Tamil film that has been dubbed into Telugu.
Although the film is produced by Telugu producer Naga Vamsi and directed by Telugu filmmaker Venky Atluri, it was shot entirely in Tamil and later dubbed into Telugu. This is unlike the recent trend of simultaneously shooting separate Tamil and Telugu versions.
In a recent interview, Venky Atluri revealed that he had filmed separate Telugu and Tamil versions for Dhanush’s “Sir/Vaathi”. However, he chose a different approach for “Vishwanath And Sons”, making it a straight Tamil film from the outset.
The clarification may not help the film’s prospects in the Telugu market, but the makers appear to be prioritizing the Tamil audience, especially after Suriya’s previous film, “Karuppu,” revived his box-office form there.
“Vishwanath And Sons” starring Mamitha Baiju as the female lead is scheduled to hit theatres on August 14.
