Weekend Box office: HIT 2 is a hit

‘HIT 2’, which opened in theatres last Friday, surprised trade pundits with strong openings. On the first day, the film performed exceptionally well. Though the film’s second-day earnings were average, it raked in a large sum on Sunday. Overall, by the end of the first weekend, the film had earned approximately Rs 10 crore (share) in AP and Telangana. More importantly, the film collected Rs 5 Cr in Telangana alone.

This is the biggest opening for a film starring Adivi Sesh. He has recently delivered a string of hits. He’s made a name for himself as a bankable actor for thrillers and various action dramas. So ‘HIT 2’ did well in the domestic market.

Adivi Sesh also demonstrated that he can bring in massive openings in the USA as well. The film made $700k (Rs 6 crore) or more in its first weekend in the United States. Other overseas territories have also performed well.

Last Friday, a dubbed film titled ‘Matti Kusthi’ starring Vishnu Vishal and Aishwarya Lekshmi was also released. However, the film did not perform well at the box office.
