Mahesh Babu has been fully occupied with the shooting of “Varanasi”, the globe-trotting adventure directed by SS Rajamouli. Despite the intense summer heat, the film’s production has been progressing at a brisk pace in Hyderabad.
Industry buzz suggests that Rajamouli is aiming to complete the principal shooting by August. If the schedule goes as planned, Mahesh Babu will be free from regular shooting commitments for the film in about three months. However, his association with the project will continue through dubbing, post-production work, and promotional activities leading up to its release in Apirl 2027.
That naturally raises the question: what comes next for Mahesh Babu?
Although several names are doing the rounds in industry circles, there is currently no concrete development regarding his next project. Speculation has linked him with a number of leading directors, but sources indicate that Mahesh has not initiated serious discussions or finalized any collaboration.
Given the scale and importance of “Varanasi,” the actor has remained completely focused on Rajamouli’s film. Insiders say he is unlikely to take up story narrations or begin evaluating future projects until after September.
For now, Mahesh Babu’s priority remains completing “Varanasi.”
