‘Chandramukhi’ is a turning point in Superstar Rajinikanth’s later career. Before the release of ‘Chandramukhi’, he was struggling with series of flops. Released in 2005, the film went on to become a sensational blockbuster in the entire South India.
16 years later, a sequel has been announced. Raghava Lawrence will be playing the lead role as Rajinikanth has not shown interest. To be directed by P Vasu, ‘Chandramukhi 2’ needs a top actress to play a key role.
Raghava Lawrence has requested Anushka Shetty to play this role. Anushka, however, is not signing new films as she wants a long break. After the release of ‘Nishabdham’ last year, she has not taken up any project. The proposed Anushka Shetty – Naveen Polishetty’s film was also shelved as the actress is not willing to act this year.
