Will ‘Dhurandhar’ Sara Arjun create magic in Telugu?

Sara Arjun

One actress who surprised audiences and quickly gained popularity in recent months is Sara Arjun. She played the female lead opposite Ranveer Singh in “Dhurandhar”, which went on to emerge as the all-time number one Hindi movie in India. The film’s recent Netflix debut further boosted its reach and popularity, significantly increasing Sara Arjun’s fan following.

Now, Sara Arjun is gearing up for her first Telugu film as a lead actress.

“Euphoria”, directed by Gunasekhar, marks her official Telugu debut in a leading role. She plays one of the central characters in this youth-centric drama that deals with issues such as drugs, party culture, and the struggles faced by today’s generation.

When Sara Arjun signed “Euphoria”, she was relatively unknown to mainstream audiences, although she had already made an impression as a teenage actor in Mani Ratnam’s “Ponniyan Selvan”. She had signed both Gowtam Tinnanuri’s “Mad” and Gunasekhar’s “Euphoria” during her teenage years. However, delays in production pushed these projects forward, and now “Euphoria” is finally ready for release this weekend. The makers are banking heavily on the craze Sara Arjun gained after the massive success of “Dhurandhar”. They are positioning “Euphoria” as her official debut as a grown actor.

Sara Arjun has already completed promotions for the film and participated in multiple interviews to create awareness.

The big question now is whether her recent popularity will translate into box office numbers in Telugu. Will the youth audience turn up to watch her Telugu debut? As of now, “Euphoria” has low buzz. Director Gunasekhar, who once delivered blockbusters like “Okkadu”, has struggled to recreate that magic in recent times, which has also affected the film’s anticipation.

If Sara Arjun’s newfound stardom manages to bring decent openings, it could prove to be a much-needed boost for the team.
