Will it be Guntur Kaaram vs Project K?

Mahesh Babu and Prabhas

“Project K” is not only Prabhas’ most expensive film, but also one of the biggest productions in Indian film history. “Project K,” which is being made in multiple languages with an ensemble cast, has already announced its release date as Sankranthi 2024. However, industry experts believe that it will not meet the deadline, and that Sankranthi is not the best time for such a massive project.

Analysts in the industry believe the film will be delayed until the summer of 2024. However, the makers insist on keeping the same Sankranthi 2024 date. If the film makes it to Sankranthi, it will compete directly with Mahesh Babu’s ‘Guntur Kaaram’.

As of now, no other major films have announced their plans for Sankranthi 2024. NTR’s ‘Devara’ is set to premiere on April 5, 2024, while “Hari Hara Veera Mallu” has been pushed to the summer of 2024. Balakrishna’s “Bhagavath Kesari” will be released in October 2023. Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa 2’ will be released in either December 2023 or summer 2024.

So, if makers of ‘Project K’ really ready the film, they can release it for Sankranthi and compete directly with ‘Guntur Kaaram’. The Sankranthi festival usually allows two or three big projects to compete.
