Work on Prabhas’s ‘Kalki 2’ begins quietly

While the spotlight is firmly on Sandeep Reddy Vanga – Prabhas’s “Spirit,” the team behind “Kalki 2” has quietly begun work on the highly anticipated sequel. Without much noise or announcements, preparations for the film are already underway.

According to inside sources, director Nag Ashwin has kick-started pre-production and music sessions. Though “Kalki 2898 AD” turned out to be a sensational blockbuster, its music received mixed feedback. Taking note of this, Nag Ashwin and composer Santosh Narayanan are said to be spending extra time refining themes and musical ideas, prompting an unusually early start to planning.

While the actual shooting is expected to commence only after several months, groundwork for the sequel is progressing steadily behind the scenes.

“Kalki 2” is the second installment of the ambitious Kalki 2898 AD franchise, which uniquely blended mythology, sci-fi, and fantasy. The first part featured Prabhas in a dual role, with Amitabh Bachchan in a pivotal role and Kamal Haasan making a brief but impactful appearance toward the end.

Meanwhile, it is learned that the makers have parted ways with Deepika Padukone for the sequel, despite her playing the female lead in the first film.
