Tamilnadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha began her acting career in an English film at the young age of 15. Later she stepped into Kollywood and went on to rule Tamil film industry later. She made her debut as lead actress in an Akkineni Nageshwara Rao starrer Manushulu Mamathalu in 1965. Later she acted in many hit movies in Telugu cinema.

What is interesting is that her last Telugu release was also an ANR starrer. She played as his heroine in film called Nayakudu Vinayakudu that was released in 1980.
