Arnold Vosloo introduced as the main villain in Ranabaali

The makers of Vijay Deverakonda’s much-awaited period action drama “Ranabaali” have unveiled the first look of veteran South African-American actor Arnold Vosloo as the film’s principal antagonist.
Released on the occasion of his 64th birthday, the posters introduce Vosloo as Sir Theodore Hector, a powerful British officer who stands in opposition to the film’s protagonist during one of the darkest chapters in Indian history.
Set against the backdrop of the devastating Great Famine of 1876-78 in Rayalaseema, “Ranabaali” tells the story of resistance against colonial exploitation. The newly released posters portray Sir Theodore Hector as a ruthless and imposing figure, hinting at an intense clash between the British establishment and the rebels fighting for justice.
Vijay Deverakonda plays the titular role of Ranabaali, a freedom fighter inspired by real-life uprisings against oppressive colonial policies, including excessive taxation and grain exports during the famine years. Rashmika Mandanna stars as Jayamma, Ranabaali’s wife and emotional anchor in the narrative.
Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, the film promises a blend of large-scale action, emotional drama, and historical conflict.
Arnold Vosloo is famously known as the main actor in Hollywood blockbuster, The Mummy (1999).
“Ranabaali” is scheduled for a grand theatrical release on September 11, 2026.
