Neha Dhupia’s remark on Alia Bhatt’s pregnancy sparks backlash

Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia and her husband Angad Bedi welcomed their first child just six months after their wedding, which at the time fueled speculation that she was pregnant before marriage.

In a recent interaction with Mid-Day, Neha addressed the criticism she faced, slamming those who pry into actresses’ personal lives. However, while defending herself, she unexpectedly brought other names into the conversation.

“Even now, I see stories and tags on female actors who get pregnant before marriage. I feel, at least, I’m on the same list as Neena Gupta and Alia Bhatt,” Neha said.

Her remark did not sit well with Alia Bhatt’s fans, who felt she crossed a line by dragging Alia into her defense. Many pointed out that defending her own choices should not have come at the cost of involving other actresses.

Alia Bhatt married Ranbir Kapoor in 2022, and the couple welcomed their first child later that year.
