Exclusive: Atlee to split Allu Arjun’s AA22xA6 into two parts
AA22xA6, the much-awaited first collaboration between Allu Arjun and director Atlee, is progressing at a brisk pace. Away from the regular Telugu film circuit in Hyderabad, Atlee has been shooting the film at a specially constructed soundstage in Mumbai, equipped with cutting-edge Hollywood-grade technology.
A significant portion of the film has already been completed, and the team is expected to head overseas soon to film major action sequences. The scale of the project is said to be massive, with extensive VFX work and elaborate set pieces forming a key part of the narrative.
Meanwhile, TeluguCinema.com has reliably learned that Atlee has decided to split AA22xA6 into two parts. The makers are now focused on wrapping up Part 1 at the earliest and planning its theatrical release in 2026, while the second part will be produced and released at a later stage. This decision was reportedly taken due to the enormous production costs and the expansive vision of the film.
AA22xA6 is a working title and not the film’s final name. The official title is expected to be revealed through a special glimpse scheduled for April 2026. Produced by Sun Pictures, the film stars Deepika Padukone and Mrunal Thakur as the female leads, with Janhvi Kapoor likely to join the cast soon. Allu Arjun will be seen in a dual role.
Notably, the film is touted to be the first Indian project to explore the concept of a parallel universe along with a unique world of creatures. Music for this ambitious venture is being composed by Sai Abyyankar.
