The Odyssey becomes Christopher Nolan’s biggest hit in India
Christopher Nolan’s latest epic, The Odyssey, has turned into a blockbuster at the Indian box office. Released on July 17, the film has completed two successful weekends and continues to attract audiences across the country.
Directed by Christopher Nolan, the film features an ensemble cast including Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, and Charlize Theron. A bold reimagining of Homer’s classic epic, The Odyssey blends psychological drama with spectacular action, featuring Cyclops battles and Nolan’s signature non-linear storytelling.
Powered by Nolan’s immense popularity and strong word of mouth, the film has grossed around $639 million worldwide. In India, it has collected approximately Rs 140 crore gross, or Rs 120 crore net, by the end of its second Sunday.
The film now ranks as the eighth highest-grossing Hollywood release in India. More significantly, it has become Christopher Nolan’s biggest blockbuster in the Indian market, surpassing the lifetime collections of “Oppenheimer” in just 11 days.
With steady occupancy and no major slowdown yet, “The Odyssey” is expected to continue its successful theatrical run in the coming days.
