Devi Sri Prasad in Yellamma

Devi Sri Prasad, one of the top music composers in Indian cinema, is all set to begin a new chapter in his career. After nearly three decades as a celebrated composer, DSP is making his debut as a lead actor with Yellamma.

The film marks the return of actor-director Venu Yeldandi to direction after the critically acclaimed Balagam. The glimpse of Yellamma was unveiled today on the auspicious occasion of Sankranthi.

Bankrolled by Shirish under the prestigious Sri Venkateswara Creations banner, the film is presented by Dil Raju.

The glimpse opens on a striking visual note, with a lone neem leaf caught in a swirling vortex before shooting skyward, as a goat looks on. The mood intensifies as a man charges in with ankle bells ringing, while another rushes in from the opposite direction wearing rugged shoes. The sequence then reveals a man seated in the fields—Parshi, played by Devi Sri Prasad.

Sporting long hair and a rugged makeover, DSP delivers a strikingly authentic presence as Parshi. The background score, composed by DSP himself, adds further depth and intensity to the visuals.

“Yellamma” is set for a pan-India release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.
