Shivani Nagaram posts ‘damage control’ video about TTD darshan
Shivani Nagaram, a Hyderabad-based actress, rose to fame with films like “Ambajipeta Marriage Band” and “Little Hearts”. She was also seen in the recent release “Hey Balwanth”. However, it was her role as Katyani in “Little Hearts” that brought her wider recognition.
The actress is now at the center of a controversy following her comments in a YouTube interview about her visit to the Tirumala temple. Shivani stated that she received special treatment during her darshan and spent nearly ten minutes inside the main sanctum (garbha gudi), praying to Lord Venkateswara. She also mentioned that her parents felt proud witnessing the special darshanam arranged for her.
Her remarks sparked criticism, especially at a time when Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is already facing scrutiny amid the ongoing Laddu controversy.
As backlash grew, Shivani released a clarification video stating that she did not receive any special privileges. She explained that she had darshan through the Srivani ticket, which costs Rs 10,500 and is available to any devotee who opts for it.
Despite the clarification, the episode has placed the young actress in an unexpected controversy, triggered by what many describe as an overenthusiastic interview comment.
