RGV urges filmmakers to reinvent content after DD2 impact

Maverick filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) has been consistently praising director Aditya Dhar and his films “Dhurandhar” and “Dhurandhar: The Revenge” (DD2) on social media.
Taking his admiration a step further, RGV on Sunday shared a picture with Aditya Dhar and actress Yami Gautam, calling them a “power couple.” He also used the moment to send a strong message to filmmakers across the industry.
According to Ram Gopal Varma, filmmakers who continue to stick to conventional storytelling and routine packaging may struggle to find success going forward. He believes Aditya Dhar has introduced a fresh narrative style and filmmaking approach with “Dhurandhar 2” (DD2) that could redefine audience expectations.
“Where will filmmakers run to save their films from his brilliance?” RGV questioned in his trademark provocative style.

He further added that audiences have now experienced a superior narrative format, and continuing with outdated methods may no longer work in today’s evolving cinematic landscape.
