She is next set to make her mark in Telugu cinema opposite Suriya in “Viswanath And Sons,” where she reportedly plays a modern young woman who falls in love with a 40-plus man.
However, Mamitha has now taken everyone by surprise with a completely deglam avatar for an upcoming Tamil film. Known for his rooted, rural characters, Dhanush has cast her in his film “Kara,” which is slated for release next month.
In the film, Mamitha is said to be playing a poor rural Tamil woman. A recently released poster shows her sitting on the floor in a simple saree, with no makeup or stylized appearance, marking a stark contrast to her usual glamorous roles.
Her transformation has caught everyone’s attention, with many praising her for stepping out of her comfort zone and embracing a raw, realistic character.
