Director Nag Ashwin is currently busy promoting “Sing Geetham,” a unique musical film produced by him and directed by veteran filmmaker Singeetam Srinivasa Rao. The film, in which the actors sing their dialogues instead of speaking them, is set to hit theaters on June 11.
While he has been actively involved in “Sing Geetham” as a producer and creative collaborator, Nag Ashwin has also quietly begun work on “Kalki 2,” the much-awaited sequel to the blockbuster “Kalki 2898 AD.”
Speaking to the media, Nag Ashwin revealed that the sequel is already on floors.
“The shooting of Kalki 2 has already begun. We are making arrangements to shoot continuously starting next month and complete it at a rapid pace,” he said.
The film stars Prabhas in the lead role, with Kamal Haasan and Amitabh Bachchan playing pivotal characters. Nag Ashwin is currently filming sequences involving Kamal Haasan and other cast members, while Prabhas is expected to join the upcoming schedules.
There has also been speculation regarding the female lead. While Deepika Padukone played a key role in the first installment, reports suggest that Sai Pallavi has come on board for the sequel. However, the makers have not made any official announcement regarding the casting.
With production gathering momentum, fans can expect more updates on “Kalki 2” in the coming months.
