Director Deva Katta, who began his career with the light-hearted “Vennela,” later carved a niche for himself with intense, politically driven stories. His recent works include “Republic” starring Sai Dharam Tej and the political web series “Mayasabha,” reportedly inspired by the political journeys of N. Chandrababu Naidu and Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy.

Recently, rumors surfaced that Deva Katta had pitched a politically aligned script to Pawan Kalyan, keeping in mind the latter’s current political image. However, Pawan Kalyan’s team quickly dismissed the speculation, stating that he has no immediate plans to take up new films.

Now, Deva Katta himself has addressed the issue through a social media post. He clarified that while collaborating with Pawan Kalyan remains a dream, there is no such project in discussion at present.

He also made it clear that he is not limiting himself to political dramas anymore. “Donno who started this rumour… but it’s always been a great dream to work with Shri @PawanKalyan gaaru. Even #Republic was meant for him at an idea stage. When something equally excites us both, it’ll happen,” he wrote.

The director further revealed that he is currently working on an ambitious non-political script. “Currently travelling with a treasure of a talent on a highly ambitious ‘non-political’ script. Just enjoying exploring different ideas that mean something to all of us. Not a care of address for political films,” he added.

Meanwhile, Deva Katta is also reportedly contributing to the dialogues of “Varanasi,” being helmed by S. S. Rajamouli. He is also said to be planning a film with a mid-range Telugu star, who is currently busy with two projects.
