Following Pawan Kalyan, Vijay picks two constituencies for 2026 polls

Tamil superstar Vijay is stepping deeper into politics, drawing comparisons with Pawan Kalyan as he prepares to contest from two constituencies in the upcoming 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
Like Pawan Kalyan, who contested from two seats in the 2019 Andhra Pradesh elections after founding the Jana Sena Party, Vijay is adopting a similar strategy. The actor recently launched his political outfit, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), and is gearing up for a full-scale electoral debut.
Announcing the party’s candidates list, Vijay confirmed that he will contest from Trichy East and Perambur (Chennai) constituencies. His party is set to field candidates across all constituencies in the state.
Calling the upcoming elections crucial, Vijay said they would define the future of Tamil Nadu and its people. He emphasized that he stepped away from a successful film career to serve the public, promising honesty and dedication towards the upliftment of the poor.
Vijay also asserted that he would stand firm against powerful forces and remain committed to his principles as he begins his political journey.
