Toxic offers a new twist on gangster genre: Yash

Toxic

Toxic, starring Yash, has been generating buzz for quite some time, and the actor has now offered fresh insight into the film’s unique approach to the gangster genre.

Speaking at the CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas, Yash described “Toxic” as more than just a typical action film. While it falls within the gangster drama space, he emphasized that director Geethu Mohandas has reimagined the genre with a fresh perspective.

According to Yash, the film delves into deeper psychological layers and explores complex human emotions, giving the narrative multiple shades. He noted that it offers a distinctive take rather than following conventional gangster film tropes.

“Toxic is not a regular action entertainer. It’s a gangster drama with a completely new treatment. Geethu Mohandas has brought in a deep psychological angle and layered storytelling, making it a very different experience,” Yash said.

The film reportedly features Yash in a dual role and includes a strong female cast with Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, and Rukmini Vasanth.

With its blend of action and psychological depth, “Toxic” is gearing up for a theatrical release in June.
