Rajinikanth’s Dharman: Director refutes Good Doctor remake reports

Superstar Rajinikanth has begun work on his next film, “Dharman”, which is being directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, best known for films such as “Dragon” and “Ori Devuda”. Rajinikanth will be seen playing a doctor in the movie.
Recently, rumors surfaced on social media claiming that “Dharman” was based on the popular American television series “The Good Doctor”. A social media handle even alleged that Raaj Kamal Films International had acquired the remake rights of the series to develop it as “Dharman”.
Responding to the speculation, director Ashwath Marimuthu dismissed the reports and termed them “fake news”. He clarified that “Dharman” is not a remake and is an original film.
The clarification has put an end to the ongoing speculation surrounding the project, which has generated considerable curiosity ever since Rajinikanth’s role as a doctor became known.

The film features Simran as Rajinikanth’s wife, while Raashi Khanna plays a key role. Music for the film is being composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
