Two important films – “Ramabanam” and “Ugram” – were released last weekend amid high expectations. Both films were well promoted, and two reputable production houses went above and beyond to generate buzz for them.

However, Gopichand’s film has recently failed to draw audiences to the theaters. “Ramabanam” bombed spectacularly. Even for a star like Gopichand, the film did not perform well.
“Ugram,” in which Naresh starred, received mixed reviews, but Naresh was praised for his performance. The film failed to bring in big opening. Naresh and director Vijay Kanakamedala’s previous film, Naandi, was a box office success. This is a modest start.
“Ramabanam” made around $30k at the box office in the United States, while “Ugram” made $55k.
