BO: ‘Chhaava’ sets a record and ‘Dragon’ clicks!

Chhaava

Allu Arjun and Sukumar created history with their previous film, Pushpa 2: The Rule, as the film became the all-time highest-grossing Hindi film ever with more than Rs 800 Cr. It seems impossible for another movie to breach it for another two or three years.

However, Vicky Kaushal’s Bollywood film ‘Chhaava’ is already aiming to become the highest-grossing Hindi film ever. The film achieved a fantastic run at the box office; it zoomed past with its second weekend collections, reaching the Rs 300 crore mark in India.

Although it is not easy for this movie to achieve the Rs 800 Cr mark in India to beat the “Pushpa 2” record, the unprecedented success is making some trade pundits think that it can achieve it. We have to wait and see for some more weeks to know the final gross of “Chhaava.”

The movie, which portrays the historical bravery of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, has Vicky Kaushal as the Maratha king and Rashmika Mandanna as the queen.

‘Dragon’ performs well in Telugu

Return of the Dragon

Last weekend, four films hit the theaters in Telugu states. “Bapu” and “Ramam Raghavam” are two Telugu films, while Pradeep Ranganathan’s “Return of Dragon” and Dhanush’s “Jabilamma Neeku Antha Kopama” are two dubbed films.

With the exception of “Return of Dragon,” all other films failed to make an impact. The Pradeep Ranganathan starrer collected Rs 5 crore gross in Telugu states, a very impressive haul.
