Last weekend, two dubbed films hit the theaters. They are Dhanush’s ‘Nene Vasthunna’ and Mani Ratnam’s much-hyped ‘PS 1’.
‘PS1’ is one of the most awaited films, and accordingly, the Tamil version took the box office by storm. The film is a huge blockbuster in Tamilnadu. In the USA, it has become the biggest ever opener for a Tamil movie as it grossed $4 million on the first weekend.
But the Telugu version didn’t receive the same response. It opened on a below-average note. But the reviews and the word-of-mouth were negative for the Telugu version. Hence, the film remained pretty ordinary over the first weekend. However, the Dasara holiday period has come to its advantage in Hyderabad. So, the film performed on a decent note in Telangana compared to Andhra.
The Telugu version has collected a share of about Rs 7.15 Crore in Telugu states in the first weekend.
On the other hand, Dhanush’s ‘Nene Vasthunna’ was a washout.
