“Court – State vs. A Nobody,” a film starring Priyadarshi, Harsh Roshan, and Sridevi, was presented by actor Nani. Despite non-mainstream plot, the film emerged as the top choice for audiences last weekend. Kiran Abbavaram’s “Dilruba,” a more commercial film, also made its theater debut alongside “Court.” Still, audiences preferred “Court” and made it a huge success.
In its first weekend, “Court – State vs. Nobody” emerged as a super hit. The film recovered all its investments by collecting more than Rs 10 crore in shares in the first weekend.
Additionally, the film grossed more than half a million dollars in the USA, becoming a blockbuster there.
Dilruba flops
Kiran Abbavaram’s 10th film, Dilruba, was a non-starter from the very first day. It could not attract any openings on the first day. The film collected decent money from early paid premiere shows, but the shows spread negative talk and impacted collections. In its first weekend, the collections are abysmally low.
In the USA, it was a disaster. When “Court” grossed about $550k (Rs 4.7 Cr), “Dilruba” grossed $21 (Rs 18 lakhs) in the first weekend. Just see how badly it performed.
