‘Yashoda’ is one recent film that did well on its first day. November is generally regarded as a gloomy month. Nonetheless, Samantha’s image and popularity aided the film’s first-day performance.
The film had a strong start at the box office in the United States. It did not do well on the premiere day, but it collected more than $100k on Friday, bringing the total day 1 (premiere + Friday) collections to nearly $200k (Rs 1.60 Cr gross).
