Last week two dubbed movies hit the theaters in the Telugu states. One is pan-Indian sensation ‘KGF Chapter 2’, starring Kannada star Yash, and the other is Tamil superstar Vijay’s ‘Beast’.
As expected ‘KGF 2’ has posted humungous numbers in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The film has collected Rs 52 crores in four days in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, making all-time highest opener among dubbed movies in the two states. In Telangana, the film has collected a whopping Rs 27.5 crore.
‘KGF 2’ is writing history in the North Indian market, performing as strong as ‘Baahubali 2’ did.
As per the Telugu version is concerned, ‘KGF 2’ is a blockbuster in the Telugu states. The film has established the careers of directors Prashanth Neel and Yash in this market.
On the other hand, Vijay’s ‘Beast’ was released amidst high expectations but the film bombed. ‘Beast’ collapsed on the second day after the arrival of ‘KGF 2’. The film received negative word-of-mouth from the audience.
