No big Telugu releases until summer 2026

The Sankranthi season has concluded on a positive note for the Telugu film industry, delivering solid returns at the box office. “Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu” emerged as a blockbuster, while several other releases also performed well commercially.
Traditionally, February witnesses at least one or two major releases following the Sankranthi rush. However, 2026 appears to be an exception. The February 2026 lineup is currently dominated by small and mid-budget films such as Vishwak Sen’s “Funky” and Gunasekhar’s “Euphoria.” Sree Vishnu’s “Vishnu Vishayam” is also targeting a February release, with the possibility of a few last-minute additions.
The situation further weakens with Nikhil Siddhartha’s “Swayambhu” moving out of the release calendar, leaving the month without any major star-driven films.
March 2026 doesn’t offer much relief either. With big projects like “Peddi” and “The Paradise” getting postponed, only “Dacoit” is expected to be the sole notable Telugu release during the month.
As things stand, audiences may have to wait until April 2026 for the next wave of big-ticket Telugu films to arrive in theatres.
