Vishwak Sen made lofty statements before the release of ‘Paagal’ announcing that the film will revive the theatrical business in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Presenter Dil Raju said the film is today’s ‘Arya’, Allu Arjun and Sukumar’s sensational hit. Their statements not only proved to be wrong, but they also became fodder for trolls.
Forget reviving the theatrical business system, the film itself needs to stay in theaters during the weekdays now. Released on Saturday (August 14), the collections for two days were pretty average. Although it took a strong opening on the first day, the unanimous negative reviews and weak word-of-mouth have hampered the growth in the collections.
It had an ordinary weekend, and it is unlikely to pick up.
