Prabhas’s attempt to win the hearts of the audience with a romantic story has not turned out well at the box office. ‘Radhe Shyam’ has completed the first week of its run in the theaters. Without hesitation, we can say it is a disaster.

Despite releasing amidst high expectations and hype, the film managed to earn just over Rs 50 crore in Telugu states in the first week.

The film opened to negative reviews and poor word-of-mouth. It crashed on the third day itself and has failed to pick up since then.

After delivering record-breaking blockbusters like ‘Baahubali’ and ‘Baahubali 2’, Prabhas has become a true Pan-Indian star. ‘Saaho’ the immediate release after ‘Baahubali 2’ also managed to open with Rs 25 crore nett in the Hindi market. But ‘Radhe Shyam’ will not go past Rs 20 crore in its lifetime. Such a disaster in Bollywood. The same goes for the Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions.

In Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, the film has managed to post decent numbers during the first weekend. But it gained nothing thereafter.

‘Radhe Shyam’, directed by Radha Krishna Kumar and produced by UV Creations, was outrightly rejected by fans and general audiences alike. Unlike ‘Saaho’, this love story has damaged Prabhas’s image as a Pan-India star took a beating. The film failed to bring in a decent opening in non-Telugu markets.
