While director Prashanth Neel directed “Salaar” clicked big time with its main original Telugu version, the other language versions have gained subpar response.

The Hindi version of “Salaar” failed to leave a strong impression. The opening day saw pretty ordinary number of Rs 15 crore. But the film saw huge jump in collections on Sunday. The movie amassed approximately Rs 53 crore nett during its initial weekend. A rather mediocre figure for a film featuring Prabhas.

A big flop in Karnataka

The other language versions of the film “Salaar” did not resonate with the audience. Surprisingly, the film did not perform well in Karnataka, despite the popularity of director Prashanth Neel. He is from the Kannada film industry. One reason is that it is a remake of the successful Kannada film, Ugramm. Due to the popularity of the film “Ugramm” among the Kannada people, there appears to be a lack of interest in watching this Prabhas movie. The producers were greatly dismayed by the collections in Karnataka.

Mohanlal’s film dominates

The Malayalam version experienced significant setbacks as a result of the competition posed by the film “Neru,” featuring Mohanlal in the lead role. “Salaar” recorded poor figures in Kerala.

The Tamil version garnered average figures. It fairly better performed in Tamilnadu compared to Karnataka and Kerala.
