The Raja Saab: First-day collection remains strong

Prabhas starrer “The Raja Saab” missed the chance to post big numbers from paid premiere shows due to a combination of poor planning, delays by the Telangana government in issuing the G.O., and distribution-level mismanagement. Although night shows began after midnight in Hyderabad, the film lost significant potential revenue because of these factors.
Despite these setbacks, the film’s first-day collections remained strong, even though ticket booking portals opened late at night. Occupancies stayed robust throughout the day across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, with over one million tickets sold on BookMyShow.
According to early trade estimates, “The Raja Saab” is expected to post huge worldwide first-day collections. While Prabhas is known for delivering massive openings, this film’s initial business was dented by poor planning. Even so, the overall numbers are expected to be impressive in the Telugu states and North America.

In the Hindi market, the film failed to open big, while collections in other dubbed versions were also on the lower side. In North America, the premiere show collections are estimated to be around $1.5 million.
Directed by Maruthi, The Raja Saab has received largely negative reviews, with criticism centred on weak writing. The film stars Prabhas in the titular role, with Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Riddhi Kumar adding glamour.
