But the biggest challenge for Prabhas and his cousins is the budget. Prabhas’s cousin Praseedha Uppalapati (Krishmam Raju’s daughter) and Pramod are bankrolling the project. Vamsi is the co-producer.

The film has been in the making since 2018. The estimated budget was Rs 250 crore. But it has now gone overboard to the tune of Rs 350 crore. In normal conditions, the budget would not have been an issue given Prabhas’s pan-India appeal. But the coronavirus pandemic has changed everything.

Pandemic and the overseas market…

Due to the pandemic, the theatrical business has shrunk. The overseas market may not recover for another. They are going to lose revenue streams. So, the recovery of the budget would be an issue.

The film’s Hindi rights have already been snapped by T Series. But the theatrical business in the Telugu market will be affected. This is worrying Prabhas and his team.

‘Radhe Shyam’ is a period drama set in the backdrop of Europe.

Directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, the film has Pooja Hegde as the heroine, Bhagyashree as the mother, and comedian Priyadarshi in an important role. Justine Prabhakar is composing the music.
