Raashi Khanna is excited about sharing screen space with Pawan Kalyan for the first time in “Ustaad Bhagat Singh”, which is set to hit theaters on March 19. During a media interaction as part of the film’s promotions, the actress spoke about signing the project, her role, and her experience working with the star.
Raashi revealed that she didn’t hesitate even for a moment when the offer came her way.
Dream come true
“I agreed to the film the moment I heard it was Pawan Kalyan Garu’s movie. I said yes even before listening to the story. Since my first film, I had always hoped to act with him at least once. With Ustaad Bhagat Singh, that dream finally came true,” she said.
In the film, Raashi plays Shloka, a modern young woman with a strong character arc. According to her, every character in the film has importance and contributes to the story.
She also performs in a mass dance number in the film, which she says was one of the most enjoyable parts of the shoot. “I love dancing, so shooting that song was great fun,” she added.
Raashi believes the film will connect strongly with audiences, describing it as a complete entertainer. “Like Gabbar Singh, this film is packed with entertainment. It’s a family film that everyone can watch together in theatres,” she said.
Learning from Pawan Kalyan
Talking about working with Pawan Kalyan, Raashi described him as a simple and thoughtful person. “He is always reading books and speaks very little, but every word he says carries meaning. He encouraged me to think about public service and helping people. I learned a lot about humanity from him,” she said.
The actress also praised director Harish Shankar for his dedication and work ethic. She revealed that the filmmaker completed the shoot in just 40 days, something that usually takes much longer.
“Harish Shankar Garu understands the pulse of the mass audience extremely well. He worked tirelessly for the film and even wrote punch dialogues on the sets,” she said.
Upcoming projects
Apart from “Ustaad Bhagat Singh”, Raashi Khanna has a busy lineup across multiple industries. She is currently working on a Hindi film with Akshay Kumar and will also appear in “Farzi” Season 2. She is also acting in an Amazon Prime series where she plays a Punjabi police officer, delivering her dialogues in Punjabi.
In Tamil, she is working on a film titled “Rowdy & Co”, while in Telugu she is currently listening to new scripts.
